Mark Stevens

Mark will be graduating Suma cum Laude from St. Augustine High School this May. He currently serves as the Co-Valedictorian for his graduating class and is very active at his school and the community.
He has served as a member of the SAHS Band Program for 4 years (1 year as Woodwind Captain, 1 year as Assistant Drum Major, 1 year as Drum Major). He was also a member of the SAHS Chorus Program for 2 years (1 year in the Concert Chorus, 1 year in the Chamber Mixed Chorus). Both programs are part of the St. Johns County Center for the Arts, a program of choice at St. Augustine High School. He also currently serves as a section leader in the St. Augustine Concert Band and the Webmaster for the St. Augustine Jazz Society. He has been a member of the National Junior Honor Society for 1 year and the National Honor Society for 2 years. His most recent addition to his extracurricular resume is his membership in the SAHS Jacket-Up Spirit Organization. He has also served as "The Voice of St. Augustine High School" where he read the morning announcements. Mark is a two-time Florida All-Sate Musician (2018-Chorus, 2020-Band) and a member of the 2019 FSU Tri-State Honor Band Festival, the FBA Nine-Star Honor Band (2017), and the St. Johns County Middle School Honor Band (2016). Mark has also received the Leonard Bernstein Musicianship Award for musical contributions and creativity. Mark plans to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education from The Florida State University this fall, where he will be studying under the world-class faculty at the FSU College of Music. Upon graduating from FSU, Mark plans to remain in Florida and become a high school band director. |
Henry Van Boskirk

Henry is currently will be graduating from Creekside High School this May where he takes rigorous Advanced Placement (AP) courses. He is a National Merit Scholar and is very active at his school and the community.
He has served as a member of the CHS Band Program for 4 years (most recently serving as the Band Captain for "The Power of Creekside" Marching Band). He has been a member of the CHS Jazz Program as a piano player (most recently in the Creekside Jazz 1 Band) and the Principal Trumpet player for the CHS Wind Ensemble. He is also a current member of the St. Augustine Jazz Society and actively plays at the monthly jams. He has been a member of the National Honor Society at CHS, a model UN member, and a competitor for the Hi-Q Quiz Team. Henry also traveled down to Tampa, FL this past January to the Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) Professional Development Conference where he was the Florida All-State High School Jazz Band pianist. Henry has also received four UNF Jazz Band Camp scholarships from the St. Augustine Jazz Society. Henry plans to pursue a degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering with a Minor in Jazz from The University of Florida this fall. Henry hopes to continue being an active member of the St. Augustine Jazz Society and playing at upcoming jams!! |
